After being temporarily homeless at the age of 19 years old, MARQ A.K.A MARQ JONES, made a strong comeback and purchased his 1st home at the age of 26. Knowing how it feels to not have a place to call home and knowing how it feels to have a landlord to decide not to renew the lease for a condo that MARQ and his pregnant wife were renting at the time was a wakeup call to become a homeowner! This also ignited his passion to help others become homeowners. Starting his journey to become a Home Loan Expert with Rocket Mortgage, formerly known as Quicken Loans, MARQ was on the fast track to becoming the expert he is today. Moving around the industry over the years and working with other companies from New American Funding to Priority 1 Lending, Success Mortgage Partners, United Wholesale Mortgage and Nexa Mortgage, MARQ has learned the mortgage game in and out and coined the term "Mortgage Mutt". Now MARQ is dedicating his expertise to not just help people purchase homes, but to help struggling loan officers, companies, or anyone in need of sales training, production practices, or financial literacy education.

From the door-to-door catalog sales for band fundraisers and selling ideas to his friends as a kid to door-to-door Ann Arbor newspaper subscriptions and kitchen knives as a teen, MARQ was cultivated into the sales industry! He began his official introduction into professional sales with T-Mobile at the age of 18 and it was history from there. As years passed, MARQ found himself exploring several companies in the area of sales. Working with companies such as Sprint, AT&T, Verizon Wireless, and many more, MARQ TRULY knows what it means that EVERY SALE IS THE SAME! People may ask MARQ , why did you bounce around so much? His honest response is the fact that it was no longer fulfilling or challenging! He led the store or region in sales, month after month! Being a natural born leader, teacher and "go to guy”, MARQ was offered several opportunities to move into management and MARQ turned them down every time. Reason being is MARQ made more money as a sales rep than many members of management. It didn't make financial sense to take a pay cut for a title and more responsibility for MARQ at the time. MARQ just loved selling and the interactions with customers! MARQ is a "Sales Guru”, and he does it with HONESTY and INTEGRITY! Truly assessing the needs of the client and building value in the solution to their needs. MARQ doesn't sell to make money alone; he sells to meet a need or fulfil a desire!
MARQ has overcome several adversities in life from fatherlessness, substance abuse, alcoholism, gang violence, homelessness, suicide, and much more! Aside from helping people become homeowners, MARQ'S fuel and passion is to pour into others to see them liberated, limitless, and living life to the fullest! Having such a diverse background
MARQ has overcome several adversities in life from fatherlessness, substance abuse, alcoholism, gang violence, homelessness, suicide, and much more! Aside from helping people become homeowners, MARQ'S fuel and passion is to pour into others to see them liberated, limitless, and living life to the fullest! Having such a diverse background, MARQ can speak to an audience of virtually any kind! Possessing the ability to adapt in many different environments, MARQ can serve or bring value to nearly any setting. From corporate, to educational, to urban, and faith based, MARQ is an expert in his lane, but can be a wild card that can fit in nearly any arrangement if needed! His transparency and authenticity reach deeper than many can only imagine, bringing hope and motivation to those that least expected it! MARQ also specializes in helping young adult males under the age of 25! With his story of overcoming the common adversities in the lives of many growing up in this generation, he know his story will connect with those that walk the same path he once walked as being rejected by his mother and having never known his biological father!
Through the many years of exploring what MARQ loves to do most, he has concluded that he just love’s genuinely helping people with the tough to deal with problems. To sum up, MARQ specializes in “Problem Solving!” He is a skilled and gifted “Problem Solver!” This is another reason he moved around so much during his many years in sales. He would learn the products, the systems, and how to maximize on every opportunity! In doing so, he also learned about the problems within the systems and organizations. In many cases, he saw problems in management that could only be solved from the top down. He voiced his solution on many occasions with an optimistic approach that his voice may carry weight, being that he was consistently a top performer. Nevertheless, in most companies, he was only recognized for the numbers he put up in sales over and above his recommendations.
The main thing that MARQ did not like was unethical and dishonest sales tactics. MARQ has always been a transparent and straightforward salesperson. However, being in the trenches with other salesmen, he was made privy to several dishonest and “shady” sales tactics. He saw how people were taking advantage of customers and manipulating the system to gain an edge over their peers and line their pockets. Since then, MARQ has a distaste for manipulation and unethical sales practices. After bouncing around several industries in the area of sales and customer service, MARQ was chasing his passion, but he didn’t know how to use it in a way that helped others on a deeper level.
From selling mobile devices to television & internet services, to life insurance and annuities, to home loans & credit consultation services, MARQ'S passion went unfulfilled as everything he did seemed so shallow! That’s until he decided to take a step of faith outside the sales industry and venture into the education and public speaking arena. MARQ always wanted to speak and teach in front of an audience. However, due to his limited mindset and lack of maturity, MARQ was always fearful and nervous and would always dismiss the idea whenever it would come to mind. This prevented him from stepping into the education and speaking arena for years!...….Up until MARQ decided to address personal matters that had been lingering from his childhood and complete unfinished business that he had been pushing off for years.
Once MARQ faced the giants that were in his life, he began to realize who he really was. He also began to see the value of his vocal gift and the fact that he has been avoiding his newfound passion for years due to the lack of maturity and fear! Once MARQ decided to “man up” and focus 120% on his gift and calling, that’s when it was revealed to him that his passion & calling is speaking, educating and problem solving!
Lastly, as a part of working on becoming comfortable speaking in front of people, MARQ decided to start with kids. He began teaching professionally as a substitute teacher with a company called Edustaff. He is permitted to teach in nearly every school K-12 in Michigan and 10 other states as a substitute teacher and many other positions! Having taught and spoke in schools and many other venues, MARQ has TRULY found is passion and calling as he’d see the light bulbs go off on people’s faces as he's breaking down a complicated matter and the inner fire that would ignite as he’d motivate others to get through challenging situations.
MARQ has been on fire for speaking ever since and he is now in the area of building his brand and endeavoring for greater opportunities! MARQ Jones is on a mission to become the BEST MULTI INDUSTRY SPEAKER IN THE WORLD! What does this mean? It means that he will become the best speaker PERIOD!
